“Today, we proudly introduce Riveon Mental Health and Recovery, a new name — and new look — representing the powerful union of The Nord Center and The LCADA Way,” according to a news release. “This name embodies our mission to provide comprehensive behavioral health and addiction services that offer hope, healing, and continuous support to our community.”

The name Riveon reflects the mission of the agency, the release said.

“Riveon signifies our dedication to guiding individuals on their journey to recovery and well-being,” the release said. “By combining the mental health services of The Nord Center with The LCADA Way’s expertise in addiction recovery, Riveon is poised to deliver a truly integrated approach to whole-person healing.”

Don Schiffbauer will serve as the CEO of Riveon.

“This collaboration represents a big win for our community,” Schiffbauer said in the release. “Bringing the expertise of these two top-notch organizations together under one roof improves access to care through a ground-breaking ‘no wrong door approach’ to behavioral health care and substance use disorder.”

The merger of The Nord Center and The LCADA Way, announced in January, stems from a historically strong working relationship and shared goals.

By uniting strengths, Riveon is better positioned to deliver critical healthcare services and champion key projects which best serve the community, according to the release.

By addressing mental, emotional and physical health, Riveon’s seamless, all-inclusive care model simplifies the path to recovery, significantly improving chances of recovery and achieving a fulfilling life, the release said.

“We now treat the whole person.” said Dan Haight, chief operating officer of Riveon, in the release. “Together, we tackle the root issues of behavioral health and substance abuse.

“At Riveon, we adapt to our clients’ needs, empowering them to navigate their recovery journey with resilience and continuous growth. We provide the resources and support necessary at every turn — always here, always ready.”

Moving forward, Riveon will begin the transition to this new entity, the release said.

A website will be launched in phases starting this fall, providing a comprehensive resource for information and support, according to the release.

“We will continue to work closely with clients, their families, and a network of partners, including law enforcement, educators, health care providers and community organizations,” the release said. “This collaborative approach enhances our ability to deliver high-quality care leading to a more resilient and cohesive community.

Riveon offers a wide range of services, including substance abuse treatment, mental and behavioral health services, problem gambling support, sexual assault assistance and crisis intervention.

“Our mission is to foster hope, healing, and a supportive community through an integrated approach that addresses mental, emotional and physical health needs,” the release said. “By ensuring accessible, innovative, and collaborative care, Riveon enhances the well-being of individuals and families throughout the community.”

The total workforce of the combined agency will be approximately 425 staff with an annual budget of approximately $45 million.

Creating this single organization will allow for not only improved efficiencies and cost savings but also for enhanced coordination of care, officials have said.

This new flagship agency will be able to more fully leverage the financial and human resources to effectively and consistently deliver high quality and high value behavioral health and substance use disorder care to Lorain, Erie and Cuyahoga counties and surrounding communities, officials have said.
